How To Play Crack An Egg On Your Head? – Step-by-Step Guides

March 11, 2022 by Casey Hayes Leave a Comment

“Crack an egg on your head,” also known as “Concentration,” is a creepy game that kids like playing at sleepovers. Some people even consider this game as a type of hypnosis.

You’re standing behind your pal, who has their eyes closed. After you’ve chanted all the verses, ask your pals to open their eyes and tell you what color they saw. The color will reveal how your buddy will die.

How does this idea work? Is the interpretation true? Let’s dig into the details by scrolling until the end of this article!

Disclaimer and Requirements

There must be two people playing this game at a time. One is the guide, and the other is the principal.

The guide has to do a chant and perform some actions simultaneously. If you can’t memorize the words, you can write them down and read them.

This game doesn’t require any tool, and you can play it anywhere. However, since you may be obsessed with the experience, make sure you can be strong and calm enough.

1. There must be two people: the guide and the principal

How To Play “Crack An Egg On Your Head”?

This game doesn’t involve brainwork or physical activities. Let’s see how this unique idea works!

Goal

Kids play this game because they want to foresee how they will die. Yet, they play for fun. Please don’t take it too seriously.

How to play

If you are the guide, stand behind the principal.

The principal must stay still with their eyes closed, experiencing the guide’s movements. They only open their eyes when told.

As the guide, raise relaxed fists and start softly beating on the back of the principal in a one-two rhythm.

Chant chorus while keeping the rhythm produced by your fists.

“Concentrate. Concentrate

Concentrate on what I’m saying.

People are dying. Children are crying.

Concentrate. Concentrate.

Concentrate on what I’m saying.”

Stop beating and go on to the first verse, which goes like this:

“Crack an egg on your head.

Let the yolk run down. Let the yolk run down.

Crack an egg on your head.

Let the yolk run down. Let the yolk run down.”

Do the following actions while repeating the verse to visualize the experience expressed in the lyrics. Also, repeat each movement when you see it in verse.

  • Egg: gently tap on your friend’s head.
  • Let the yolk run down: slide your fingers down his back.
  • Let the chills run up: slide your fingers up his back.

Rep the chorus with the one-two thumping gesture on his back.

Now move on to the next verse and chant it while following these gestures.

“Squeeze an orange on your shoulder.

Let the juice drip down. Let the juice drip down.

Squeeze an orange on your shoulder.

Let the juice drip down. Let the juice drip down.”

When you say “oranges,” lightly twist the principal’s shoulders. From now on, every time you chant “run down” and “run-up”, do the same actions as the egg verse, which is sliding your fingers down and up the principal’s back.

Then, turn to the third verse:

“Stick ten needles in your sides.

Let the blood drip down. Let the blood drip down.

Stick ten needles in your sides.

Let the blood drip down. Let the blood drip down.”

Poke all your fingers in your friend’s sides when you say the word “needles.”

“Stab a knife in your back.

Let the blood drip down. Let the blood drip down.

Stab a knife in your back.

Let the blood drip down. Let the blood drip down.”

On “knife,” gently pound one of your fists into your friend’s back.

“Wrap a rope around your neck.

Wrap it till it’s tight.

Wrap a rope around your neck.

And PULL!”

Mime tightening a rope around your friend’s neck in response to the word “rope.”

Put your hands on your friend’s shoulders and gently but sharply press downwards you say “pull.”

Here is the last verse:

“You’re standing on a building.

You’re out on the ledge.

You’re feeling very dizzy,

And you’re close to the edge.

And someone PUSHES YOU!”

Push the principle forward gently on the word “pushes.”

Now, ask your friend to open his eyes and tell you the color he sees.

Here are the death-related interpretation of the colors:

  • Red: stabbed
  • Blue: drowned
  • Orange: burned
  • Yellow: get poisoned
  • Purple: suffocated
  • Brown: buried when still alive
  • Green: falling
  • Gray: diseases
  • White: Old age (then go to heaven)
  • Black: Old age, but go to hell

2. Each color refers to a different meaning

Strategy

The guide doesn’t have to learn the chants by heart. The key is to read the words clearly and perform the actions accordingly.

You can watch this video to have more ideas about the game.

Some Tips For Players

Your goal for this game is not to win but to determine which color you see while your friend is doing the rituals.

Concentration

Another name for this game is “Concentration,” so it must be the key. Both the guide and the principal have to concentrate on their tasks.

As a principal, all you have to do is to close your eyes and focus on the words you hear from the guide. It would be best if you had no idea about the color interpretation beforehand.

Do not miss a word

The chant is too long for the guide to remember all the words. You can print it out, write it down, or look at the screen while chanting if you play this role.

However, make sure that you don’t miss any words and keep the rhythm. Also, act as you chant.

Act gently

As aforementioned, in certain words, the guide has to perform actions. Try to do everything gently yet sharply.

For example, the final step is to pull the principal. The guide only pulls hard enough so that the principal loses his balance and is soft enough not to hurt him.

3. Act lightly but sharply

Some Of Real-Life Experiences Of Players

In spite of the morbid-sounding chant in the middle, you may still find this experience dangerous and spooky.

It’s an odd form of mental engagement, as it allows you to feel the things portrayed in the chant without really doing so.

Some people experienced weird situations when playing this game. They reported that

Whereas the guide appeared to puppeteer the principal’s arms mysteriously, his hands were directed through a set of repeated actions, eventually prompting him to lift his arms automatically.

When the principal opened his eyes, he was surprised to realize that his arms were not at his sides.

How To Turn This Into A Drinking Game?

This game will be less scary if you turn it into a drinking challenge. But how to make it possible?

Do you notice the color interpretation? Instead of relating it to death, you can use each color for a challenge.

For example, red is for drinking two cups of beer, and blue means you don’t have to drink at all.

Games Like “Crack An Egg On Your Head”

Spooky games are a great idea for Halloween nights. Aside from the “Concentration,” you can try one of the following options.

Cat Scratch

The idea behind “Cat Scratch” is to call a cat-like demon that will scratch you.

Player 1 sits in the center of the circle with the other players, while player 2 lies on Player 1’s lap.

Player 1 would softly massage player 2’s temples while reading a poem.

Player 2 must rise as soon as the poem is over, and other members must pull player 2’s shirt to reveal his back.

They may see three mysterious scratches there, but player 2 doesn’t feel hurt.

Bloody Mary

The player must walk into a room with a huge mirror that is poorly illuminated.

With eyes open, the player looks at the mirror and repeats “Bloody Mary” three times in a calm voice.

In the mirror behind, Bloody Mary will appear. She comes soaked in blood and wailing, while some have said that she emerges as a witch.

4. You can try other ideas for the spooky night

Conclusion

You may not expect the games for kids to be that scary. If you want to try, be sure that you are strong enough and not stay awake the whole night thinking about the color you saw.
