The Ultimate Guide On How To Play “Gorilla Man Gun”

August 10, 2021 by Casey Hayes Leave a Comment

Gorilla, Man, Gun is an upgraded version of Rock, Scissors, Paper. However, instead of just playing with hands, this game necessitates the use of the entire body. Both adults and children from all age ranges can enjoy the game.

To play, you need at least two players. The leader has to explain the gestures implying Gorilla, Man, and Gun. Then, ask the players to stand to perform the action after the leader counts to three. The Gun wins over the Gorilla. Meanwhile, the Gun gets beaten by the Man. And, the Gorilla can defeat the Man.

This game is quite interesting. So, everyone feels excited when taking part in this game, including adults and children. Let’s read on to discover!

How To Set Up The Game?

The familiarity of the game is one of the most appealing aspects. In this game, the players can’t cheat, or argue the results.

Another reason for the game’s popularity is its simplicity. You don’t need to prepare any materials.

Explaining the rule to your children may be the only preparation. This part becomes much easier if your kids already know how to play Rock, Scissors, Paper. Most of them may be familiar with the game.

If not, you can instruct them on the rules in short. Then, let them practice. They can be good at it after a few trials.

How To Play Gorilla Man Gun

Once the players have memorized the steps, they can handle the game easily. It may go like this via the detailed video.

Let’s follow this step-by-step instruction to make everything clearer:

Step 1: Explanation

You need to explain the action for each word first.

If a player wants to be a Gorilla, they will raise their arms high in the air and make a snarling sound.

If a player chooses to be a Man, they should cross their arms gently and place one hand on their chin in a thinking manner.

Finally, if the Gun is picked, create a gun with your hands and point it at your partner. The player should shout “bang” while doing the action.

The cycle proceeds as follows: Gorilla overcomes Man due to the Gorilla’s superior strength. The Man defeats the Gun since he can grab and use it. Finally, the Gun wins over the Gorilla since the weapon can kill.

Step 2: Pair the players

To start the game, you need to find at least two players. After that, ask them to stand back-to-back. Now a player has a partner behind him. It would be great if you pair the players with the same age and skill levels together.

Step 3: Fight against their opposite

You count from one to three. As soon as the players hear number three, they have to turn back immediately and do Gorilla, Man, or Gun.

If both players do the same thing, the leader will count again. The participants then join another round until there is a winner.

Step 4: Organize the tournament

The game will be more interesting if the leader organizes it as a competition. Each match’s victors will progress to the next round.

Meanwhile, the losers will get eliminated from the competition. The final round will face the last two winners against each other, with the final winner crowned champion.

Step 5: Choose the winner

Continue the game until the leader has eliminated all the players. It’s a lot of fun to pick a champion.

Gorilla, Man, Gun song

Instead of counting, you can make the game more exciting by using some music.

Play the music for a while. Then, count to three. At the count of three, stop the music.

Any fun songs, like “Baby Shark”, can work well. Allowing your children to enjoy the music before starting their battles is a great idea.

Benefits Of The Games For Kids

Aside from the simplicity, there are other reasons to explain why this game has become that famous.

  • It suits all ages and levels.
  • You may feel free to modify the game to suit your kids even more.
  • The participants’ constant interaction ensures the game’s enjoyment.
  • By performing the exact actions, players can train their minds and their body.
  • The game can help your kids in making decisions, such as for food.
  • You can hold the game anytime and anywhere.
  • It’s a global game. It may help you overcome language problems while traveling overseas.

The game can bring lots of benefits to your kids

Punishment Of The Game

Including some punishments makes the game more interesting. You can get ideas from the list below:

  • Imitate different animals.
  • Allow others to style your hair.
  • Dance with all your heart.
  • Make a mustache and retain it till the game is over.
  • Make a drawing with your toes.
  • Reduce how much time your kid spends watching television.
  • Take a selfie while wrapping yourself in toilet paper.
  • Tell a story with a word given.
  • Do some housework after the game.

Variations

There is a version called “Gorilla, Man, Banana”.

Some parents want to avoid the sense of violence. They replace the gun with the banana, which is more familiar to their kids. The only difference between the two games is the action you take to demonstrate the banana.

Though you choose the Banana, act as if you’re peeling a banana. The Gorilla beats the Man, and the Man wins the Banana since he can eat it. The Banana, on the other hand, defeats the Gorilla since these animals love bananas. The fruit now turns into a weapon to fight against the Gorilla.

Conclusion

If your kid gets bored with Rock, Scissors, Paper, it’s time to teach them how to play Gorilla, Man, Gun. The rule is at ease. You can also let your child play anytime. Such an ideal game for relaxing and making decisions!

If you want more ideas to have fun with your kids, please feel free to ask.
